Girl Scout House Information : New Braunfels Girl Scout House,

We have two Houses that we rent out: the Founders House and the Dedication House. Both are air-conditioned. Click here to see photos of the house.

Availability
The house is available for rent by other Girl Scout troops during the summer months only. It is reserved for local girl scout needs during the school year.

Amenities
The Founders House has a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, a full-size gas stove w/oven, a microwave oven, pots and pans, dishes and silverware, coffeemaker, and misc. mixing bowls and kitchen gadgets; a full bathroom with tub/shower combination and one toilet; and two large carpeted meeting rooms with tables, benches and folding chairs. It also has a television with VCR/DVD. This House sleeps approximately 25 - 30 people. There are no cots.

The Dedication House is two carpeted rooms and a bathroom with a shower and one toilet. There is no kitchen. There is a microwave oven and a coffeemaker. It also has tables and chairs. This building sleeps approximately 25-30 people. There are no cots.
The thermostat is set to 74 degrees and is locked.

Reservation and check-in Procedure
Contact Lisa Blaschke (lisablaschke@sbcglobal.net) to reserve your time at the house. Lisa will e-mail you the proper forms and instructions. The key to the house is located in a lock box at the door of each house. The combination to the lock box will be emailed to you when your full payment has been received or within one to two weeks of your arrival.

Check-out procedure
We have cleaning supplies, brooms, mops, and a carpet sweeper in each building for your use. We also keep a supply of paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags. If your stay includes a Sunday or Wednesday, we ask that you take the trash cans out to the curb by the mailbox. Please make sure to follow the rules posted on the inside of the house for leaving the house “Better than you found it.”

Upon leaving, please be sure that everything is cleaned up, trash is taken out, items that you brought are taken out of the refrigerator, and that all doors to the house are locked and that the key is placed back in the lock box.

Check-in time is 2:00 p.m. or after and Check-out time by 12:00 p.m.

Fees
Front House: $60 per night for up to 10 girls, $3.50 per girl per night thereafter and $5.00 per night for others. There is no charge for accompanying safety-wise adults. (Please see fee page for safety-wise adult definition.) In addition, a $25 non-refundable registration fee is required to secure your reservation. There is a $50 damage deposit that will be refunded upon inspection after check-out. All rental fees must be paid four weeks in advance with completed contract. If all fees are not received by the four week deadline, your reservation will be opened up to the next group on the waiting list. Check-in time is 2:00 pm or after, and check-out time is by 12:00 pm.

Children : Children are my favorite subject. I like to capture children in their natural state -- playing. That's when some of the most beautiful expressions come. I have an extensive background with children and I am comfortable in their world and can get down on their level where the best shots are.

Trash that Dress : So the big day is over -- it was a blast -- and now you have this beautiful dress (with a few wine stains perhaps) that you'll never wear again. But before you pack it away forever, give me a call and we'll have some fun with it before it hits the closet shelf and the mothballs! If you simply can't bear to trash it, call me anyway, I have a few generic dresses on hand that we can put through the ringer over and over.

About Us : Lisa on Location is run by Lisa with a little help from her husband Jayme.
